Driving workflow through effective collaboration is key to success in any project. The viewer's commenting feature is designed to facilitate quick and efficient communication among team members. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you make the most out of this powerful tool.
To add a new Comment
- Locate your file and open it in the Viewer
- You can add a comment to the model by right clicking and picking Add Comment, or by using the right-hand panel and picking the Add Comment icon
. This will bring up the Comment box where you can enter in your text comments, attach documents, add markup, and also @ mention another user.
- One you have entered your comments, added your markups, pick Submit and your new Comments will appear in the right panel.
NOTE: “@” Mentions
When you type an "@" symbol followed by a person's username/name, a list of existing Workspace users will appear that match. Once you select their name from the list of available users and hit submit, the user will get an email notification, making them aware of the comment, allowing them to quickly respond using the link provided in the email. This can be done with the initial Comment or in a Reply.
The number of open comments is indicated by the blue bubble . You can also hover over the blue bubble to see the number of open/resolved comments.
To Reply to a Comment
Simply select the comment thread you want to add a Reply to and enter the information you would like to communicate.
Comments status and editing comments
You can filter your comments based on their status, Open, Resolved, All and Only Mine as well as Reopen, Edit or Delete a comment.
Comments on multiple versions of a model
If you have multiple versions of a model, you can filter your comments based on the version by selecting a specific version of the model using the pull down
