Use Walk mode when you want to constrain your movements so it seems as though you’re walking through your model. This is similar to using first person controls in a 3D world game.
- To add or remove the Walk mode option on your toolbar, choose from the following:
- 3D Viewer and Vertex Story: Press Alt+Shift+Enter (Option+Shift+Return on a Mac).
- Vertex Story only: If you always want a specific story to open in Walk mode for all collaborators, in the Story Overview, on the Settings tab, turn on Set Walk Mode as Default.
Note: You can use the keyboard shortcut to turn off Walk mode, but the story will always open in Walk mode until you turn off this setting.
- On the toolbar, click Enter walk mode .
By default, Look Around is active. - Use the teleport options to:
- Teleport and Align (changes your position and aligns to a surface)
- Teleport (changes your position without changing the surface alignment)
- Use the following keyboard keys to walk through your model.
Key Action W Move forward S Move backward A Move left D Move right ← Look to the left → Look to the right ↑ Look up ↓ Look down Page Up (Fn+↑ Mac only) Increase elevation Page Down (Fn+↓ Mac only) Decrease elevation - To change your walk speed, click Walk Speed and adjust the slider.
- To return to the default movements, click Exit walk mode .
NOTE: You can only enter Walk mode in a desktop environment and while in Perspective View. However, if a story has Walk mode set as the default, you can use the Walk toolbar options.
