If you want to import an NX assembly, save all of the assembly’s files to a single folder.
- Create a folder where you want to save all of the components of your assembly.
- Open NX and optionally open your assembly (this isn’t required to create a clone).
- Choose Menu → Assemblies → Cloning → Create Clone Assembly.
- In the Clone Assembly dialog, do the following:
- On the Main tab, choose Add Assembly, and locate the top-level assembly. Make sure that the Default Clone Action is set to Clone.
- On the Naming tab, navigate to the folder you created in step 1.
- Return to the Main tab, confirm that the information listed is correct, and click Execute.
- You can now import your assembly into Vertex.
Notes:
- Best practice is to always zip your files before importing it. This reduces the amount of time it takes to import larger assemblies.
- Parts should be unhidden or unsuppressed. If they’re not, they’ll appear as gray (unavailable) in the BOM.
